Sworn Allegiance

Ohh you can feel the talent oozing through this record! You can also hear the age of this band, this being their 7th studio album and 15th year of existence.
It is not the barrage of audio savagery that death metal bands of today such as Nile and Decapitated produce, but a calculated not so in-your-face attack.
Old Entombed comes to mind - hmmm I wonder why? (Unleashed baing a death metal band from Sweden?), but on tribute to the fans 'Metalheads' there is a funky, groovy, if you will 'nu' style. Don't let this put you off as the song is still death to the core and brutal - just annoyingly catchy!
Unleashed have managed to create a certain urgency and tense atmosphere through all the songs which makes them undeniably listenable. They may not outpace the whippersnappers of today but their tunes carry a distinct weight to them, a definite aura that eminates power all over.
A common downfall with bands releases all the time is repetiveness. Boredom. Samey. Unleashed have no doubt created a good record, but it does blend and bore after a while.
"Sworn Allegiance" will incite respect for Unleashed, whether it is liked that much or not because it shows their talent has not waned over the years. A solid album.
